The bus

There is a first time for everything. Taking a bus service from Rockford IL to Chicago O' hare airport (ORD).
Should be a fun ride. This bus seat is probably more comfortable than my airline seat later today.

Day 2

Day 2 of the tour. Minus the 3am wake up, today was awesome. I know it will be brief, but to recap. Woke up at 3am arrived at Las Vegas Airport around 345 am. I wasn't to happy about being up early until the song Don't Stop Believing by Journey came on the FBO speakers. Someone I knew today would be okay. So at 430 am we departed to Salt Lake City. We arrived on time and turned on the phones to have a schedule change. Instead of the long day we expected, we now had it rather easy. Salt Lake City back to Vegas to Van Nuys.

Upon our arrival in  SLC, we borrowed out the crew car and headed to the recommend restaurant, Market Street Grill in downtown Salt Lake City. What an awesome recommendation! We both ordered the Shrimp Crab Halibut Spinach Omelet which was the omelet special for Fridays. Amazing and tasteful is all I can say.

After breakfast we headed towards the Mormon Temple. A small yet peaceful part of Town with tons of History. While we there, Adrian remember a Ducati Motorcycle shop he wanted to visit. We enjoyed looking at the Italian motor bikes.

Next stop was the airport. However we took several wrong turns that headed to our advantage. We drove thru the Market Street Mall. Parked and grab a four shot espresso with two pumps toffee nut from Starbucks. AMAZING pick me up drink.

While we were on our espresso high we entered a surf/skate surf. After several minutes of chit chat with the store employees I ended up buying a unique foot shaped skateboard. One of a kind. Extremely fun.

So we departed SLC, popped into Vegas, picked up the remaining passengers and flew to Van Nuys (VNY). Cleaned up the plane and headed to the hotel. Took a quick break and met up with Adrian to skate around town.

We grabbed some Thai Food and skated around a but. I love the new skateboard. The Giant Foot board is awesome! Mingled with some people, and now I'm in bed. Another early morning show. Suppose to end up in Arkansas tomorrow. I will keep you posted. Goodnight everyone

Back Again

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been sticking to my plan of becoming a well known travel blogger. Even though it is June already, I'm finally sticking with one of my New Year Resolutions. That is to share my adventures and stories from the road with all of you.

To start, today is Day 1 of the work week. I am currently in the hotel room of the newly completed Holiday Inn Las Vegas (4055 Palos Verdes). The rooms are nice. One thing I don't understand about all the hotels we stay in, is why do we need the 50 inch TV? I mean don't get me wrong. I like a big TV. But on average its only about 3 feet away from the edge of the bed. And it is really just me watching it. The beds are nice and comfy. A downside to the beds here are that they are on a wooden base. The corner stick out about 2 inches, and so far I have managed to stub my shins into them three times. Rooms like this one, with the modern look, appeal to me. Its make me want to go to IKEA as soon as I get home.

Well, so far, the work week is off to a good start. The original plan, I should say the 1st plan, was to grab a rental car from San Diego Airport, stop at LAX to pick up the other pilot, then drive to our maintenance base / FBO at Camarillo Airport, just north of LA area. Luckily, I was dragging my feet this morning, so shortly after grabbing my coffee, the plan changed. That plan was to airline here, to Vegas. Which upon landing had a temperature of 93. As Adrian and I waited for the hotel shuttle, we noticed the 93 degrees actually wasn't bad. A cool (maybe 85 degrees) wind was blowing.

I've also stuck to my commitment of getting a workout in before hitting the town or bed, which comes first. Work has been so busy that most of our days have been sitting on our cabooses soaking in the views from 30,000 feet. So with a hour bike ride down, and the heat outside starting to drop, I look forward to our walk around the town tonight. A tapas restaurant nearby was recommended by the front desk and so it is. The name of the place is Firefly. Hopefully we will enjoy some good food and live music. I will post some more pics shortly. If we are lucky maybe a video as well.

The Beginning

Good morning from Maui. Finally made it after much traveling. Suprisingly well considering the distance and time changes. I flew from Florida, to Maine, to San Diego, to San Francisco, to Maui. Luckily, my longest flight (SFO - SAN) was upgraded to first class via a nice flight crew on United. Also my first ride on a Boeing 777. If only the Wright Brothers could see what they started from a bike with cloth wings to an airplane weighing over 500,000 lbs.. Todays agenda is to grab some coffee, wait for the sun to warm up outside, walk thru the local swap meet, find my surfboard, and spend as much time on the beach. This trip has already been off to a great start. The first friend I see within an hour of off the plane, was one I thought I would never get a hold of again. I couldn't believe it. It was ... amazing, and boosted my spirits so much. It felt like Liam's Journey has really begun!
